Description
Thermal bending of various plastic sheets is a process in which the sheet is heated with a special heater to a certain softening temperature, after which the part is placed in a template until it cools down and takes the appropriate shape. It is suitable for bending various sheet materials, such as acrylic (PMMA), foamed PVC, polystyrene (HIPS), PETG, polycarbonate, CORIAN and other sheet materials up to 20 mm thick, suitable for thermal bending process.
We have 7 machines for one-sided or two-sided heating of sheets suitable for bending.
Maximum length of heating and subsequent bending – up to 3000 mm.
When bending plastics, in order to avoid secondary „bow-type“ bending of the parts (self-similarity), it is very important that the heating machines have a cooling system in the area outside the heating, so that the heating can be limited only in a narrow area. Our machines have such a cooling system.
With our 1840×1400 mm thick BURKLE sheet heating oven, we can bend cast acrylic sheets, CORIAN or other plastics up to 30 mm thick, using a membrane press with a vacuum to accept the final shape of the part.
In this process of thermal bending, pre-printed with screen or digital printing details on acrylic (PMMA), polystyrene, polycarbonate, PETG or foamed PVC can also be bent.
